Building a pipeline of minority professionals to join the business community

We hope the program helps address the gaps of minority representation and achievement in the Twin Cities by supporting minority undergraduate and graduate students to pursue academic careers in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Tax, and Information Technology. The program is designed to ensure that future generations of minority professionals are provided every opportunity, into the profession, build a successful career and grow in the community long term.

Scholarship Program

Our Legacy Scholarship Program has access to over $50,000 in scholarships.

Our scholarships are administered by a scholarship committee made up of the affinity groups; National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), Ascend, Prospanica and the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA). The committee defines the scholarship requirements, distribution criteria, evaluate scholarship applications and award final scholarships. Scholarship applications are open to all students of color so long as the meet all qualification criteria.

Scholarship Criteria

To be eligible to receive an award, Applicants must:

  • Be an ethnic minority
  • Be paired with professional mentor(s) from one of the affinity groups
  • Have intent to work in Minnesota at least for a year upon graduation
  • Be currently enrolled at a college or university as a full-time (12 semester hours/equivalent) undergraduate junior or senior (Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Marketing or IT) OR
  • Be a full-time graduate student (9 semester hours or equivalent) enrolled or accepted into a master’s-level business program.
  • Meet a minimum overall grade point average of 3.3 (out of 4.0
  • Complete a scholarship application form by due date.
